Reclaimers

Awakening the Angel System: Apocalypse: A LitRPG Progression Fantasy

The Reclaimers are the principal resistance coalition opposing the theocratic regime’s surviving leadership. Led by Lord-Commander Lita von Strongarm, they unite partisans, rebels, and paladins in a movement whose purpose is both military and political: to defeat the forces responsible for the Theocracy’s devastation and assume responsibility for what remains of the state. Their importance lies in making liberation an organized local project rather than merely an external conquest.

Origins and Leadership

The Reclaimers emerged from the ruins of a country attacked by the Green Bishop, the High Table member also known as the Pope of the Holy Nation. The assault killed seventy percent of the total population, while those who survived were forced either to submit or face execution by the Green Bishop’s Neo-Crusaders. Lita von Strongarm was among the few who refused submission. Her leadership therefore carries the authority of direct survival and resistance rather than inherited ceremonial power.

Lita’s political and military role began before the Reclaimers joined Jack’s campaign. As a Judicator-in-training, she had been sent to the Imperium at Cardinal Veltrilli’s request to seek aid for her devastated homeland. Her presence at the academy was consequently part of a diplomatic mission, not an ordinary posting. Lita later acknowledged that she had concealed this purpose, but explained that Lumenese Selfia heard her proposal and promised assistance. During her time with Selfia, Lita also learned the true nature of the threat posed by Mr. Fritz and the organization connected to him.

Alliance with Jack’s Forces

The Reclaimers became the essential local partner in an operation led by Jack’s team. Jack’s force included the MECHFrame Damocles and its pilot Tangerine, but the mission could not be accomplished by that unit alone. The target was a heavily fortified facility in the Theocracy’s capital, and attacking the papal nation’s center without local support would have been suicide even with a full army behind Jack.

The planned operation therefore required Majestic’s team to link up with the Reclaimers before attempting an infiltration. Lita’s coalition supplied the resistance network and political purpose needed for a decapitation strike: the facility would be attacked, the Green Bishop removed, and Lita and her followers would replace what remained of the government. The alliance thus joined external military force to internal legitimacy. Jack could bring the power to breach the capital, but the Reclaimers represented the people and institutions that would have to survive the regime’s fall.

Lita treated the alliance as the fulfillment of a long-delayed promise. When Python apologized for the time it had taken to honor the agreement, she cut him off and insisted that what mattered was that help had arrived. Her stated objective was to cut off the head of the Hydra and end the suffering of the victims claimed by the Green Bishop. The language presents the Reclaimers’ struggle as a fight against a many-headed system of violence, not simply against one isolated commander.

Resistance in Sacred Territory

The Reclaimers operate in a capital whose political and military importance is inseparable from its sacred symbolism. During the advance, Lita identified a human-sized statue as the statue of Saint Citri, the Theocracy’s founder and patron saint. She explained that the statue’s presence limited the power of the demonspawn attacking the city, while traitors searched throughout the capital for it because they knew the value of the relic. The Reclaimers’ struggle consequently unfolds around both strategic sites and contested symbols of authority.

Lita’s explanation also exposes the contradiction at the heart of the Theocracy. A regime that claims sacred legitimacy has become monster-infested and murderous, while the resistance protects the very sacred object that helps ordinary defenders survive. The statue functions as more than a religious monument: it is a material source of protection, a target of treachery, and a sign that the meaning of the Theocracy’s founding can be separated from the regime that now claims to embody it.

Political Meaning and Legacy

The Reclaimers are not portrayed as a force seeking only revenge. Their projected role after the decapitation strike is to replace the remaining government, giving the resistance a program of succession as well as destruction. Lita’s personal history reinforces that political dimension: she sought foreign aid, negotiated with Selfia, investigated the wider organization behind the Green Bishop, and then brought the local resistance into a coordinated operation.

Their partnership with Jack also anticipates the broader political transformation of the story. Jack later presents surrender as a choice that can preserve life and offer citizenship in the Cordelica Democracy, rejecting the old Imperial war doctrine that forbade surrender while an enemy still possessed the means to resist. Against that contrast, the Reclaimers represent a third position between authoritarian continuity and simple foreign occupation: a population that has endured mass slaughter, organized its own resistance, and seeks to reclaim political agency.

The Reclaimers therefore embody the difficult transition from rebellion to reconstruction. Their name describes not merely the territory they hope to recover, but the authority, memory, and future of a society damaged by the Green Bishop’s rule. By placing Lita and her coalition at the center of the post-strike government, the narrative makes local resistance the condition of legitimate liberation.
